A Skin Saver for Chapped Hands

I have struggled with dry hands for as long as I can remember.  My nails are always the first sign, and then my knuckles. My skin definitely does not react well to the dry, cold winter air!  The only thing that seemed to keep my hands from becoming chapped was an ultra-expensive hand cream that had to be reapplied every couple hours, or every time my hands were exposed to water.

A couple months ago while I was getting a pedicure, I became aware that I was scratching my hands, and I looked down to see that my skin was red and chapped.  I asked the nail technician for a little hand cream, but instead she handed me foot cream!  She explained to me that since foot cream is formulated for dry feet, it is excellent for dry hands as well.  It felt minty and tingly at first, but the itching stopped immediately.  I didn’t purchase the foot cream that day though….

A few weeks ago my mom surprised me with the Aveda Foot Relief from the salon we go to, and I immediately thought of how healing it had been for my hands the day I was getting a pedicure.  So every night while I applied the product to my feet, I began applying it to my hands as well.  The dryness and redness on my hands has completely disappeared!  I really wish I had taken before and after pictures, because I am not exaggerating when I say that my hands were chapped, so much so that my knuckles were a tiny bit swollen.  The Aveda Foot Relief fixed it completely in about a week.  One of the greatest things about the product is that it is also exfoliating, making it both time saving and multi-purpose.  I highly recommend the Aveda Foot Relief to anyone with dry hands.  I also would like to add that my skin is very sensitive, and this product has not caused me any issues.

Please comment below if you decide to give this product a go!  And I would love to know, what are some of your favorite products for dry skin?

I hope you all are having a fabulous week so far!
