“Honour” and Treasure Your Eyes

The state of color and puffiness of my eyes usually reveals how much sleep I got, my emotional state, and how hydrated I am.  I truly believe that the eyes can tell us a lot about our well being.  I feel and look so much healthier when my eyes are bright and shining.

Sometimes we can’t help getting only a few hours of sleep, or eating dinner close to bed time.  In my case, I woke up Monday morning with my eyes very, very swollen from crying the night before (I’m okay, but sometimes this just happens!).  I’ve been using the Kora Organics Recovery Eye Gel Cream for almost three years now, morning and night.  I feel even more grateful for this product on those mornings when my eyes are sore from puffiness.  As soon as I apply the Recovery Eye Gel Cream, it is instant relief.  I am also prone to dark circles, and since I began using this specific eye cream, they have began to lighten just a bit.  Kora Organics describes the Recovery Eye Gel Cream as “a high concentration of Organic Seaweeds (known to boost collagen production) combined with Noni Extract, Chamomile, Bladderwrack and Vitamin C & E help protect and rejuvenate the delicate eye area.  Contains Aloe Vera to cool and soothe, tired puffy eyes.”

Like all Kora Organics products, the Recovery Eye Gel Cream has a positive word on the back of the product.  The word “honour” is absolutely perfect.  It is important to honour your eyes because the eyes truly are the windows to the soul.

Both the word “honour” and my recent eye puffiness from crying reminded me of the importance of taking care of myself, especially in times when it feels easier to neglect self-care.  I’m not perfect and it is not my intention for this to come off that way.  I just want to share my experience because there is so much I have yet to learn.  Each day is a new opportunity to “Treasure Yourself” (I am referencing Miranda Kerr’s book, Treasure Yourself.)  Over the past couple years, this book has been a guide and inspiration to me.  Self-care is important because it a part of treasuring yourself: in mind, body, and spirit.

Thank you so much for reading, and I would love to hear your thoughts on self-care in the comment section. ❤

xo, Carly
