This weekend has been one of relaxation and rejuvenation, because in the midst of projects and deadlines, I have found myself feeling stressed. It is easy to be hard on ourselves when we take time out of our busy schedules to do simple things such as read, or make a cup of tea and take deep breathes (this may sound strange to some, but it always helps me feel better). I also like to read and write affirmations during these times, and I especially like to remind myself, “I am surrounded by love and light everywhere.” Love and light are everywhere, even when we feel stressed, overwhelmed, or unworthy. Love is there when we fall short, and light is there to remind us that there is so much to be grateful for.
The photo above was my Friday morning tea, and if you follow me on Instagram then you know I splurged on a box of organic green tea/ginger tea (in college this qualifies as a splurge). I stopped drinking coffee back in December, because while I may enjoy the taste, it wasn’t allowing me to feel my best. My favorite teas are ginger, chamomile, lavender, chamomile/lavender, English breakfast, earl grey, nighty night, green, and mint tea. Ginger tea is amazing because it is quite helpful with the digestive process, perfect for before, during, or after a meal (it has almost a spicy taste that will make your tummy feel good, I sometimes add a spoonful of raw honey for a spicy/sweet treat). Currently, my dorm is stocked with chamomile tea and a green and ginger tea blend. Something I have been in the habit of doing lately is adding almond milk to my tea when it is done steeping, giving it a rich latte-esque taste.
I hope that all of you are having a lovely weekend, and thank you for stopping by GGS!
