A Little La Mer, A Lot of Kora

Two posts in one day?  Like Regina George said, “What is happening to the world?”

While I had planned to watch Netflix for the rest of the afternoon after coming home from work, I decided to do a face mask instead and then felt inspired to create content for GGS.  There is something about beauty products that really inspires me, whether it be the packaging or the scent of all of the good-for-you organic ingredients, I absolutely love them.  Especially with Kora Organics, where there is a positive word on the back of each product and all of the products are filtered through rose quartz crystal.  According to the Kora Organics website, “Rose quartz is pink-coloured crystal gemstone that is believed to carry a very gentle, soothing energy to encourage self-love, self-esteem and forgiveness. It is also said to have vibrations that can help heal and protect the heart. By incorporating rose quartz as an ingredient, we hope to infuse a vibration of self-love into all our products.”

This Summer, I am planning on shopping around to find healing and meditative crystals that I can keep on my bathroom counter, bedside table, and in my purse.  I really believe in their healing properties and their ability to shift energy.  Do any of you use crystals?

I am also sharing a peak onto my bathroom counter today, with a few mini samples of La Mer and a lot of Kora Organics products.  Last night, I finally finished unpacking all of my beauty products (since moving out of my dorm last week, I had been living out of travel cosmetic bags).  In the picture, I have applied their Hydrating Mask, which you can read my full review of here.

Organic Beauty On A Budget: Coconuts For Coconut Oil

Hi everyone!  I started the Organic Beauty On A Budget series back in February, and while I knew that the next product I wanted to talk about was coconut oil, I was struggling to figure out just how I wanted to share this one because coconut oil is not a little-known beauty solution.  In the organic beauty world, everyone already knows about coconut oil and the amazing skincare benefits it holds.  I always look for coconut oil that is certified organic and cold pressed, because cold pressed coconut oil yields the most health benefits.  Nutiva is my favorite brand, and you can purchase it here.

No matter what I did that evening or how busy I am, I always take care of my skin before bed.  Since I choose to splurge on Kora Organics products for my face, I have to save in other areas of my skincare routine, which is where coconut oil becomes the perfect addition to my college student budget.  I love knowing that when I use coconut oil I am not putting any toxins on my skin, and a jar lasts a long time, even when you use it every night (like I do).  It only takes a few minutes and a tiny bit of coconut oil for the softest skin.

Here are a few specific skin concerns the coconut oil has helped me with:

❤ Dry skin: Of course, this is the number one reason why I love this oil so much.  The moisturizing properties of it are long lasting.

❤ Redness: Any redness from shaving is soothed and on it’s way to being healed, thanks to coconut oil’s natural anti-bacterial benefits.

❤ Sunscreen: If you are going to spend the day at the beach, I would definitely still wear some type of professional, organic sun protectant.  For every day, I have found that coconut oil does an amazing job at protecting my skin from minimal sun exposure.

Thank you so much for reading, and I would love to know how you incorporate coconut oil into your beauty routine in the comment section!

Much love,

Kora Organics Hydrating Mask

One of my favorite things to do to relax is put on a face mask, and the Kora Organics Hydrating Mask has been my tried and true favorite for years.  While the bottle says to let the mask set for 5-10 minutes, I love leaving mine on for hours while I drink a cup of tea and read or watch a movie.  It is my favorite kind of “me time,” and taking this time out to not think about homework, or the little things that I sometimes let get to me, always leaves me feeling happier and centered.  I talk about Kora Organics again and again, simply because it is my favorite line of skincare and their products are an integral part of my everyday self-care routine.  They’ve recently changed the look of some of their products, as well as redesigned their website.  In addition to that, I noticed the prices have been lowered, making the products so much more affordable (and me a very happy college student).

The Kora Organics Hydrating Mask contains Noni Extract, vitamins, and minerals to clean, hydrate, restore, and protect the skin.  This mask has really made a difference in my skin, especially when it comes to preventing irritation from environmental factors.  I see a noticeable difference when I am using the Hydrating Mask on a regular basis, and it leaves my skin incredibly smooth and fresh feeling.

In this post, I also chose to include a picture of the back of the product, because the different positive words on each Kora Organics product are a part of why I believe they make such a huge difference in my skin (besides the lovely, certified organic formulations of course).  The positive words are inspiring and uplifting, and remind me that self-love plays an important role in the care of your skin.

❤ Positive words = positive energy

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today, and I would love to know if any of you decide to try the Hydrating Mask!

Much love,

My mom sent me my makeup case with my entire makeup collection a few weeks ago, and as I was going through it, I came across a bunch of Wander Beauty products that I bought a while back but hadn’t really gotten around to trying.  I am so glad that I finally tried them, because I am in love!  I have the Wander Beauty eyebrow pencil, foundation stick, sponge, and the On-the-Glow Blush and Illuminator which is what this post is all about.  I will do a post later this month on my new foundation routine, because it has changed drastically (unlike my skincare routine, which is consistently Kora Organics).

On-the-Glow is a blush and highlighter all in one, is super hydrating, and easy to use.  Wander Beauty products are designed for the girl on-the-go, and their gorgeous yet practical packaging is perfect for throwing in your purse last minute.  Lindsay Ellingson is the co-founder and creative director of Wander Beauty, and I am a huge fan of hers, so I am not surprised by how much I love all of the Wander Beauty products I’ve purchased so far.

I also use the blush side of this product on my lips.  Their are four blush and highlighter options for On-the-Glow, and I have the soft pink/nude glow combination.  The long-lasting color allows me to only have to apply the product once or twice a day.  If you head over to the Wander Beauty website, you can browse the entire makeup line as well as watch tutorials and read application tips for each product.  I love their tutorials and tips because it has helped me learn about the versatility of the products, while ensuring that I apply them in the best way possible.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and stay tuned for more Wander Beauty posts this month!

Much love,
