The Noni Glow

I have mentioned the new Kora Organics Noni Glow Face Oil many times already so this isn’t a huge reveal, but it is my new #1 favorite product.  I even keep the oil on display next to my makeup brushes!  Noni extract, rosehip oil, pomegranate oil and sea buckthorn oil make up this beautiful product; and they soothe my skin all on their own just like the Kora Soothing Day and Night Cream.  With just a few drops, my skin feels hydrated and calm; and I have noticed my skin clearing up in a major way (small acne marks that have been there since I was thirteen are fading).  What I love about using an oil is that they last so long, so while it is expensive initially, if you can find an oil that calms, hydrates, brightens, and clears up you skin, then you are not only simplifying your beauty routine, but you are buying one product instead of four.  For me, the more simple and down to earth my beauty routine is, the better I feel and look.  This oil is considered to be more of a treatment, and it ends up being less expensive to use it as both the nourishing skin treatment it is and in lieu of traditional moisturizer.  I have only been using the Noni Glow at night without moisturizer, but I am almost out of my Soothing Day and Night Cream (which I have just been using in the morning recently so that I could see how my skin would react by just applying the oil at night), so when it is all gone I will be using the Noni Glow in the morning as my only moisturizer as well.  I will let you guys know if I end up needing to use a traditional moisturizer again, but so far I am really loving this new oil by Kora.  I am thinking about doing a full post on my skincare routine, because it has changed a bit since I’ve started college (aka, saving money wherever possible!).  Until then, please feel free to ask me any questions in the comment section!

Much love,

Kintsugi, the art of broken pieces

I stumbled across this earlier this evening, and it was one of those moments where after I read it, I grew quiet.  Not the kind of quiet where I was talking non-stop and then went silent, but the kind of quiet where all of the thoughts going through my head just stopped.  All of the worries and fears that I have on a daily basis just melted away.  I have never heard of Kintsugi before, but I can’t wait to research it a bit more.

Beauty is simple, and it goes beyond skincare and makeup.  My perspective is that beauty is kindness, strength, and grace.

What is your definition of beauty?  Have you ever heard of Kintsugi?  I would love to hear your response in the comment section!

Until next time….

Sephora Samples

Hi beauties!  I hope all of you had a safe and happy Fourth of July.  My mom and I hung around the house, grilled lots of vegetables, and watched Sex and the City at the end of day.  For me, most holidays come down to spending time with family and feeling grateful.

In the morning, before our day really got started, I ran to Sephora.  I haven’t been to Sephora since December, and I was so excited to see all of the new brands that they are carrying: Tata Harper, Drunk Elephant, and of course Kora Organics, to name a few.  I did go into Sephora with a mission to collect a couple samples of foundation to try as well as a face sunscreen (preferably a natural one that is not tested on animals).  I ended up walking away with two samples of Tarte foundations, a face sunscreen by Drunk Elephant, and I couldn’t help but ask for a sample of the new Kora Organics Noni Glow Face Oil.  I tried the oil for the first time last night and it is amazing.  Not only did it exceed my expectations, but I noticed a difference in my skin this morning (and that was after only one application).

I also want to attest to how generous Sephora is with letting customers have free samples of products!  It is the worst thing to either have a bad reaction to a product or simply have it not work out, and waste both money and the product.  With sensitive skin, I almost always ask for a sample of makeup before I purchase it.  My one exception is Kora Organics.  Every single Kora product I have used has felt lovely on my skin and worked beautifully (which is why Kora Organics appears on GGS so much).  In this case, I couldn’t wait anymore to try their new Noni Glow Face Oil.  My sample should tide me over until I purchase the full size!

Thanks so much for stopping by GGS today,

Carly xx

What I’m Looking Forward To in the Organic Beauty World

Hi beauties!  Yesterday I did a post on Instagram (@carlybrazeal) about how excited I was about all of the amazing things happening in the beauty/health/wellness world right now.  I feel inspired by beauty and health companies more than anything.  I think that taking care of our inner and outer selves isn’t vain, and is like what Jolene Hart explains as having a healthy vanity.  I decided it would be fun to do a small roundup of a few things I am following and looking forward to in beauty and wellness right now.  For me, using organic personal care products and eating as healthy as possible allows me to feel my best.  I also feel passionate about health and wellness, and I love meeting others who are, too.

I cannot wait for Carla Oates’ (aka, The Beauty Chef) cookbook to become available in the U.S.!  The Beauty Chef lives by the idea that “Beauty begins in the belly.”  I have personally tried (and loved) her GLOW Inner Beauty Powder, which was her first product of many.

I sound like a broken record again and again as I rave about Kora Organics.  They recently came out with four new products (one being a health supplement), and all four products are now available at Sephora!  It warms my heart to see the brand growing.  I really cannot wait to try the Noni Glow Face Oil pictured above.  I am thinking about splurging and purchasing it closer to my birthday!

This Beauty Fix Balm by The Beauty Chef is so reasonably priced and packed with good for you ingredients like fermented organic coconut and rosehip oil.  You can use it as a moisturizer, lip balm, or even eye cream!  It seems to me that it is a great product to have in your beauty arsenal, and after I get a pot of my own, I will do a full review here on GGS!

This is the Gypsy Brunette Dry Shampoo by Wildflower Gypsy.  I actually met Chelsea, the creator of Wildflower Gypsy, in Savannah where I go to school and where she a based out of.  She is truly a kind person, and her products are so beautiful!  I cannot wait to try them, and this dry shampoo will be the first (her Instragram is @a_wildflower_gypsy, and is one of my favorite accounts to follow).

Thank you all so much for reading,
