How I Curl My Hair

I was going through my pictures yesterday, and I came across these blog post photos that I had completely forgotten about!  These pictures were meant to be one of my earlier blog posts, and even though my hair is now at least an inch longer, I decided that I would use them anyway because the technique I use to curl my hair is exactly the same!  Honestly, I haven’t made the effort all Summer to curl my hair; but yesterday I decided to do it and it made me remember how good it feels to do so.  Now, I am going to try and do it a few times a week because I feel so much more put together.

Instead of using a curling iron, I almost always use a flat iron to curl my hair.  I find that the curls last longer, and I get it done much quicker.  I’m also much less likely to burn my fingers!  It sounds a little unconventional to use a flat iron, but it has always worked for me.  I love having my hair curled because it makes so many other hairstyles look put together and pretty.  I don’t like to spend a lot of time on my hair in the morning, so second day curls are a life saver.

As for products, I have a few tried and true essentials.  I will do a more in depth post of them, but for now I thought I would reveal my favorite hair care brands: Alterna, Aveda, and Josie Maran.

Do you have any hairstyling tips?

xx, Carly

before and after

Hi!  Today I want to share what my hair looked like before and after it was colored (it was previously colored in the before photo as well).  I had a really great experience having it done, and I love how it turned out.  I always feel so relaxed when I get my hair done.  I even almost fell asleep while my hair was being shampooed!

I hope that everyone is staying safe in the weather!  Today I had a snow day so I am enjoying being home.

xx,

Carly
