The Noni Glow

IMG_0110

I have mentioned the new Kora Organics Noni Glow Face Oil many times already so this isn’t a huge reveal, but it is my new #1 favorite product.  I even keep the oil on display next to my makeup brushes!  Noni extract, rosehip oil, pomegranate oil and sea buckthorn oil make up this beautiful product; and they soothe my skin all on their own just like the Kora Soothing Day and Night Cream.  With just a few drops, my skin feels hydrated and calm; and I have noticed my skin clearing up in a major way (small acne marks that have been there since I was thirteen are fading).  What I love about using an oil is that they last so long, so while it is expensive initially, if you can find an oil that calms, hydrates, brightens, and clears up you skin, then you are not only simplifying your beauty routine, but you are buying one product instead of four.  For me, the more simple and down to earth my beauty routine is, the better I feel and look.  This oil is considered to be more of a treatment, and it ends up being less expensive to use it as both the nourishing skin treatment it is and in lieu of traditional moisturizer.  I have only been using the Noni Glow at night without moisturizer, but I am almost out of my Soothing Day and Night Cream (which I have just been using in the morning recently so that I could see how my skin would react by just applying the oil at night), so when it is all gone I will be using the Noni Glow in the morning as my only moisturizer as well.  I will let you guys know if I end up needing to use a traditional moisturizer again, but so far I am really loving this new oil by Kora.  I am thinking about doing a full post on my skincare routine, because it has changed a bit since I’ve started college (aka, saving money wherever possible!).  Until then, please feel free to ask me any questions in the comment section!

What I’m Looking Forward To in the Organic Beauty World

Hi beauties!  Yesterday I did a post on Instagram (@carlybrazeal) about how excited I was about all of the amazing things happening in the beauty/health/wellness world right now.  I feel inspired by beauty and health companies more than anything.  I think that taking care of our inner and outer selves isn’t vain, and is like what Jolene Hart explains as having a healthy vanity.  I decided it would be fun to do a small roundup of a few things I am following and looking forward to in beauty and wellness right now.  For me, using organic personal care products and eating as healthy as possible allows me to feel my best.  I also feel passionate about health and wellness, and I love meeting others who are, too.

I cannot wait for Carla Oates’ (aka, The Beauty Chef) cookbook to become available in the U.S.!  The Beauty Chef lives by the idea that “Beauty begins in the belly.”  I have personally tried (and loved) her GLOW Inner Beauty Powder, which was her first product of many.

I sound like a broken record again and again as I rave about Kora Organics.  They recently came out with four new products (one being a health supplement), and all four products are now available at Sephora!  It warms my heart to see the brand growing.  I really cannot wait to try the Noni Glow Face Oil pictured above.  I am thinking about splurging and purchasing it closer to my birthday!

This Beauty Fix Balm by The Beauty Chef is so reasonably priced and packed with good for you ingredients like fermented organic coconut and rosehip oil.  You can use it as a moisturizer, lip balm, or even eye cream!  It seems to me that it is a great product to have in your beauty arsenal, and after I get a pot of my own, I will do a full review here on GGS!

This is the Gypsy Brunette Dry Shampoo by Wildflower Gypsy.  I actually met Chelsea, the creator of Wildflower Gypsy, in Savannah where I go to school and where she a based out of.  She is truly a kind person, and her products are so beautiful!  I cannot wait to try them, and this dry shampoo will be the first (her Instragram is @a_wildflower_gypsy, and is one of my favorite accounts to follow).

Thank you all so much for reading,

A Little La Mer, A Lot of Kora

Two posts in one day?  Like Regina George said, “What is happening to the world?”

While I had planned to watch Netflix for the rest of the afternoon after coming home from work, I decided to do a face mask instead and then felt inspired to create content for GGS.  There is something about beauty products that really inspires me, whether it be the packaging or the scent of all of the good-for-you organic ingredients, I absolutely love them.  Especially with Kora Organics, where there is a positive word on the back of each product and all of the products are filtered through rose quartz crystal.  According to the Kora Organics website, “Rose quartz is pink-coloured crystal gemstone that is believed to carry a very gentle, soothing energy to encourage self-love, self-esteem and forgiveness. It is also said to have vibrations that can help heal and protect the heart. By incorporating rose quartz as an ingredient, we hope to infuse a vibration of self-love into all our products.”

This Summer, I am planning on shopping around to find healing and meditative crystals that I can keep on my bathroom counter, bedside table, and in my purse.  I really believe in their healing properties and their ability to shift energy.  Do any of you use crystals?

I am also sharing a peak onto my bathroom counter today, with a few mini samples of La Mer and a lot of Kora Organics products.  Last night, I finally finished unpacking all of my beauty products (since moving out of my dorm last week, I had been living out of travel cosmetic bags).  In the picture, I have applied their Hydrating Mask, which you can read my full review of here.

Thank you for stopping by!

Organic Beauty On A Budget: Coconuts For Coconut Oil

IMG_8404

Hi everyone!  I started the Organic Beauty On A Budget series back in February, and while I knew that the next product I wanted to talk about was coconut oil, I was struggling to figure out just how I wanted to share this one because coconut oil is not a little-known beauty solution.  In the organic beauty world, everyone already knows about coconut oil and the amazing skincare benefits it holds.  I always look for coconut oil that is certified organic and cold pressed, because cold pressed coconut oil yields the most health benefits.  Nutiva is my favorite brand, and you can purchase it here.

No matter what I did that evening or how busy I am, I always take care of my skin before bed.  Since I choose to splurge on Kora Organics products for my face, I have to save in other areas of my skincare routine, which is where coconut oil becomes the perfect addition to my college student budget.  I love knowing that when I use coconut oil I am not putting any toxins on my skin, and a jar lasts a long time, even when you use it every night (like I do).  It only takes a few minutes and a tiny bit of coconut oil for the softest skin.

Here are a few specific skin concerns the coconut oil has helped me with:

❤ Dry skin: Of course, this is the number one reason why I love this oil so much.  The moisturizing properties of it are long lasting.

❤ Redness: Any redness from shaving is soothed and on it’s way to being healed, thanks to coconut oil’s natural anti-bacterial benefits.

❤ Sunscreen: If you are going to spend the day at the beach, I would definitely still wear some type of professional, organic sun protectant.  For every day, I have found that coconut oil does an amazing job at protecting my skin from minimal sun exposure.

Thank you so much for reading, and I would love to know how you incorporate coconut oil into your beauty routine in the comment section!

Much love,

Carly xx
