A Note On Style

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Hi beauties!  These are just a few photos that I have pinned recently for style inspiration. It isn’t surprising that my style is really changing given that I just finished my first year of college.  Isn’t college the time where we grow into who we are?  We often times follow the path of who we think we should be, rather than who we could be (or are meant to be).  But, we can choose to let our authenticity and uniqueness shine through!

I love the color palette of each of these outfits: summery, yet the pieces are versatile and can be styled according to any season.  Selena Gomez, Elsa Hosk, and Leonie of Ohh Couture are some of my favorite style icons.  And speaking of icons, I am putting a post together all about Brigitte Bardot (style, hair, spirit, etc.), and I would love to know if any of you have anything interesting to share?

As always, thank you so much for reading and please leave your thoughts in the comment section!

Much love,

Carly xx

Vulnerable Adventures

I love this adventurous, dream-inspiring photo by Ohh Couture.

If I ever feel particularly unsettled at the end of day, I will often times make a to-do-list for the remainder of the week.  It makes me feel more in control of my life, which is strange because it is just a silly little list, after all!

I think that more than anything, I feel more vulnerable when I allow events to unfold right in front of me.  As much as I can overcomplicate situations, there is simplicity in remembering that there is so much beauty in this world, and in my life, to be grateful for.  Expectations sort of melt away when I remember that my life is complete and whole as it is, right in this moment.

Being vulnerable is not a strength of mine.  I am actually able to hide parts of myself very well, because sometimes I am afraid to just be myself.  It is easy to become scared of being judged or thought of as “weird.”  But, I am starting not to worry so much about that because I don’t want to live wondering what it would’ve been like if I had had the courage to speak up for the things I wanted (and I am not talking about material things).

I love the photo by Ohh Couture above because it inspires me to follow my heart, so that I can discover everything I am meant to about the world.  Anne Frank’s words remind me to simply be grateful, that my life is whole and complete in each moment, allowing me to enjoy the adventures, twists, and turns along the way.  Even in the darkest of times, there is still hope.

Never, ever give up on your dreams!

Much love,
